Are you thinking of doing a day hiking tour nearby Pokhara? If your answer is ‘Yes’, we have a perfect day hiking tour starting from Kande (1 hour drive from Pokhara). A gentle climb from Kande (1:30 minute) through the villages and forest will take you to Australian camp (1900 meters) from where you will see the fantastic views of Pokhara and Annapurna himalaya range.
From Australian camp you will descend through the ridge and get to a picturesque village “Dhampus” in about 40 minutes, which is situated at an altitude of 1750 meters above the sea level. The Dhampus village is very famous name among all tourists all over the world because this place offers charming views of all Annapurna Himalaya range. Mainly you can observe from Dhampus are Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna, Mount Fishtail, Mount Lamjung Himal and Mount Himchuli. The village is just about 18 k.m away from beautiful city of Pokhara, in the north west direction; and it is said that 25% tourists who come to Nepal; visit Dhampus.

Leaving Dhampus you descend to Phedi for 2 hours where your car will be waiting and drive to Pokhara.

Day 01A day hiking to Dhampus via Kande and Australian Camp7 Am: Pick up from your hotel; drive to Kande (1 hour); and climb to Australian camp through Kande village and forest; from where you can see beautiful views of Annapurna Himalaya range; and descend to Dhampus; a nice village that offers picturesque views of mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Himchuli and Lamjung himal. From Dhampus you descend to Phedi (2 hours) where your car will be waiting and drive back to Pokhara.

Please bring:

  • Just bring light weight warm clothings if you are traveling in winter (November - February).
  • Please bring umbrella or raincoat if you are doing this trip in Summer (July - September).
